The exact date and discovery of kefir grains are unknown, apart from the fact that it originated in the Caucasus Mountains thousands of years ago. Our 4LifeZA live grains, were received in Gauteng in 2014, and has been cultivated the traditional way with raw milk, ever since.

This food is alive and continues to grow. The milk kefir made from these grains, is safe to consume for at least 6 months, when produced with raw milk.
